SRINAGAR, Jun 29: Entangled in the incident of rape-cum-murder of two young women at the South Kashmir district headquarters of Shopian for the last one month, authorities have imposed curfew on Baramulla township in North Kashmir after two civilians got killed and 25 others sustained injuries in violent clashes with Police. Tension has erupted at the garrison district headquarters over a woman’s allegation that SHO Baramulla “misbehaved” with her in exchange for the release of her husband, detained in the matter of abduction and rape of a 15-year-old girl.
Informed sources in North Kashmir told Early Times that trouble broke out in Baramulla last evening when a woman, namely Haseena W/o Mohammad Yusuf Bhat R/ Nattipora (Srinagar), presently living in Sheeri (Baramulla), appeared at a market and shouted that SHO Baramulla and Head Constable Mohammad Amin of Police Station Baramulla had suggested her stay in their room for a night in exchange for the release of her husband. New Delhi, June 29: To ease issuance of temporary passports to Haj pilgrims, the Centre has decided to do away with police verification of those planning to go to the holy city of Mecca to perform Hajj.
The Hajj Committee of India today said the decision to this effect came after two meetings in Delhi and Bangalore on June eight and ten, chaired by N Ravi, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs.
The issue of Hajj passport for Saudi Arabia will be valid for eight months only and this will not be renewed.

Mumbai June 29: A key index of the Indian equities markets plummeted towards closing bell today, falling after rising 191 points to close just 8.22 points above its last closing figure.
The benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, which opened at 14,815.9 points, ended trade at 14,772.86 points (provisional) - 8.22 points or 0.06 percent higher than Friday's close.
Similarly, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) ended the day 0.26 percent up at 4,386.9 points.

Poonch, June 29: An Army jawan was killed and another injured in an exchange of fire between security forces and infiltrating militants near the LoC in Poonch district, defence sources said here on Monday.
A group of militants, who had sneaked into Indian territory from across the LoC, were challenged by Army troops at forward post in Khari last night.
The militants resorted to firing, which was retaliated by the troops, they said adding in the ensuing encounter a jawan identified as Mohinder Singh was killed and another jawan sustained injuries. The injured jawan has been evacuated and rushed to hospital for treatment.

New Delhi, June 29: The first NSG hub set up in the aftermath of the 26/11 terror attacks will become operational in Mumbai on Tuesday while three more hubs of the elite commando force will be inaugurated on July 1.

Jammu, June 29: Thirty-nine first-timers from Jammu and Kashmir made it to the weekly Poonch-Rawlakote bus service as 104 persons exchanged sides through from Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point at Line of Control (LoC) on Monday.
Official sources said that 88 civilians left for Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) from Poonch. They included 39 fresh visitors to Pak from this part of the Kashmir while 49 were returnees from Pak.
