| JSM criticizes Omar for disputing JK's accession with India | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 28: Criticizing Omar Abdullah for disputing the integration of Jammu and Kashmir State with India and stressed for resolving the Kashmir issue by dialogue with Pakistan and the separatists, the Jammu State Morcha (JSM) said today that it is surprising that Omar did not raise the issue of illegally occupied part of Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistan. In a press statement issued here today, the JSM leaders Prof Virender Gupta, H.B Khajuria, Nathu Ram Gupta and Chandra Uday Sharma said that Omar failed to highlight the plight of the people living in Pak Occupied Kashmir. He also did not raise the issue of cross border terrorism sponsored by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir. The JSM leader further said that Omar Abdullah is completely wrong when he questions the merger of Jammu and Kashmir State with India. The JSM leaders asserted that whole of Jammu and Kashmir that existed on or before 1947 became part of Indian Territory after the instrument of accession was signed and as such became the integral part of the country. As per Indian Constitution Jammu and Kashmir is included in territories of Indian Nation. Article 370 though provides special status to Jammu and Kashmir, but it also unambiguously declares Jammu and Kashmir as integral part of India. They said that the preamble of J&K constitution says, "We, the people of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, having solemnly resolved, in pursuance of accession of this State to India ………., to further define the existing relationship of the State with Union of India as an Integral part thereof………….." JSM asks Omar Abdullah to give stop to issuing such irresponsible statements as no one in the country and outside takes them seriously. |
