Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 28: In what could be seen as Congress having taken as affront recent remarks of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on 'Accession', once again terming it as 'incomplete,' senior leader and PHE Minister Sham Lal Sharma today fired fresh salvo against the former, asking as if was so , what oath he had taken four years back and in what capacity he is occupying highest chair in the government. Sharma also asserted on imperativeness of unity of Jammu in countering such voices like autonomy or self rule.
In an oblique reference and sharp reaction to Omar Abdullah's recent remarks on Accession of state with India , it was Sham Lal yet again who mustered courage to hit out at NC and Chief Minister with pointed question this time that Omar considered it so, why and how he had taken the oath as Chief Minister of the state , which is a constitutional step. The Congress leader also asked what they (NC) were doing in the government and what for they are a part of the government . PHE minister came out with this hard hitting observations against CM in a function organized by Jammu Bar Association.
" There are no takers for such expressions and the voices in support of autonomy nor in favour of self rule…. People of Kashmir are only concerned with good governance and they are least bothered with such political slogans ", Sham said while interacting with senior advocates and lawyers fraternity in a function organized at Jammu Club today. Pertinently, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had recently raked up this issue and made reference to Accession of J&K as incomplete with India during his interaction with European delegation which called on him during their visit to Kashmir few days back. It was apparently in response to these observations that Sham hit out at CM for raking it up. Sham's brazen remarks are seen as Congress having taken Omar's observations again over the issue seriously and not only this but to convey the party can not take this anymore.
However, what came as important assertion made by the senior Congress leader is the call for unity contending that it was time for Jammu to remain united and counter this all in one voice . Pertinently, it was Sham Lal who two years back made a scathing attack against NC and CM while speaking in a party function at Bani , in which he while referring to remarks of CM made on the floor of House that accession of India with J&K was incomplete. The Congress leader had contended that if such voices continue to emanate from the power circles , Jammu had no option to call for separate statehood. This had evoked a sharp reaction from the NC and the issue had snowballed into controversy for quite some time.
