Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Sept 28: Annoyed over the attitude of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar during a review meeting of health sector on Friday, Block Medical Officer Kishtwar Dr. Parvaiz Iqbal Wani and Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Baseer Ahmed Khan exchanged heated arguments over the alleged use of unofficial language by Baseer Ahmed Khan against the BMO forcing him and other employees of the Health Department to leave the meeting mid way.
As per details, the trouble erupted when Deputy Commissioner while reviewing the sector wise progress of various health sector related issues used unethical language against Dr. Parvaiz Iqbal Wani. The insiders informed the "Early Times" that Dr. Parvaiz objected to the attitude and rude behavior of the DC and urged him not to use unethical language which added fuel to fire and both the officers exchanged heated arguments.
The verbal dual that lasted more than 10 minutes forced the BMO to walkout in protest. The sources added that Dr. Parvaiz informed the DC that during his 25 years long service in Health Department, he followed all the service rules and did his job honestly. He reportedly informed Baseer Khan to check out his reputation and performance from his officials under whom he had served from time to time.
Responding to Khan's intention of holding a detailed audit of his block Dr. Parvaiz welcomed his decision and added that nothing is above his dignity and honor and told the officer that in case he was found guilty, he is ready to face the consequences.
He also informed the DC about audit carried out by the AG office and added that Centrally Sponsored Schemes are regularly being monitored at various official levels. As soon as the BMO decided to walkout from the meeting, the other officials followed him who later returned back and participated in the meeting on BMO's request.
The officials in Health Department while confirming the incident said that Dr. Parvaiz Iqbal Wani was right in his decision and added that higher officials in the Health Department including Director Health Services Jammu were aware and known to the issue. All the Health officials later called on Dr. Parvaiz Iqbal Wani and condemn the arrogant and unethical attitude of Deputy Commissioner and extended their full support to the officer.
