Avinash Azad Jammu, Sept 28: The tall claims of transparency in the functioning of Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) were dashed to the ground with the recent revelation that the Board had failed to provide information, sought under RTI Act even after the lapse of two months. It is assumed that Board has deliberately concealed the controversial information to save its skin. The RTI applicant informed Early Times that under RTI Act, he had sought information regarding funds provided by Government and utilization of same with few other queries but the reply of same was yet to be made. "On July 31, 2013 under postal order number 08F/872038 I submitted my RTI application in the presence of BOPEE chairman Prof RD Sharma at camp, but after the lapse of two months the information was not furnished by the BOPEE", said information seeker, adding that, he has tried to contact BOPEE's head of Srinagar and dialed contact numbers available on BOPEE's website that is 0194-2433760 and 0194-2433590 but no one reply his call. Following the alleged CET-2013 'paper leak' issue surfaced in State the information filled an RTI application and sought six queries. "I am seeking detail of funds provided by Government for current fiscal year (2013-14), detail of utilization of funds from April 1, 2013 to till date that is July 31, 2013. Separate detail of each expenditure, where the funds were utilized", the information seeker said. "Which practice BOPEE adopt to set papers and its expenditure stands at, how much money is being paid to reserve per/examination hall, provide detail separately. How much honorarium is being paid for examination duty per person, per day", I sought information of these six queries, he said. |
