Jammu, Sept 28: National Panthers Party (NPP) leaders visited bereaved families of policemen killed by terrorists in Hiranagar to condole them. A team of NPP leaders including its president Balwant Singh Mankotia, Anita Thakur, Jagdev Singh and others visited the families of the police martyrs who were killed by terrorists on September 26 in Hiranagar Police Station and expressed sympathies with them. The team visited the families of ASI Ratan Singh, HC Pardeep Singh Jamwal, last evening. The Panthers leaders also held a condolence meeting on the martyrdom of four Army personnel in Samba namely Lt Col Bikramjeet Singh, soldier KK Reddi, soldier M Srinivasan, Havaldar Inder Singh. The Panthers leaders accused the State and Central governments for their utter failure to keep a vigil on the terrorists' movement along the international border. The NPP welcomed the decision of the party to file a petition in the Supreme Court to conduct a judicial inquiry. Meanwhile, Panthers activists staged a massive demonstrations at all district headquarters of Jammu region burning effigies of Chief Minister and demanding his immediate dismissal in the "interest of the security of the state. The protesters condemned the Chief Minister for challenging the state merger with the Union of India. |
