JAMMU, Dec 1 : Directorate of CA&PD placed two private FPS dealers under suspension, following their alleged involvement in different criminal activities for which they were booked by the police. They have been identified as Baldev Singh, private FPS dealer in Khanikote, district Reasi and FPS dealer Kewal Singh of village Gari, both Congress Sarpanchs. Director CA&PD G. S Chib when contacted confirmed the reports and said that the cognizance was taken and decision was taken following their involvement in criminal cases. He further said that inquires have been initiated against them. While Baldev Singh was arrested by police when he was distributing the liquor and cash among people in exchange for vote for Congress, Kewal Singh was booked in an assault case. Pertinently, five Congress activists, including a Sarpanch, were booked for allegedly assaulting some BJP supporters over a political rivalry on Sunday. "The victims were on way to hospital with a patient when they were intercepted by the accused and assaulted," a police officer said. He said the accused have been identified as Kewal, sarpanch of the Gari village, Umesh Singh of Bareli, Maqbool of Gari, Ranjit Singh of Gari and Raju Singh of Gran Morh. Police said the accused,Kewal is associated with the Congress Party. "The victims have been identified as Sohan Singh, Balwan Singh, Balwant Singh, IsharDass, Rajesh Singh and Raj Singh. Sohan Singh and Balwan Singh have sustained critical injuries and were referred to Government Medical College Hospital, Jammu for treatment," the police confirmed. |
