Arora shocks BJP ideologues in Parlok | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 1: The obsession for Kashmir has forced BJP to change its known stand of total integration of Jammu Kashmir into Indian union. The BJP in a bid to woo the Kashmir voters has promised revocation of AFSPA if voted to power. "If voted to power, the party will create an atmosphere where such a "stringent" law would not be required," said BJP leader and state-party in charge Ramesh Arora said. Interestingly Arora criticized Omar Abdullah for seeking partial revocation of the law. "The Lal Chowk blast (on Saturday) and the Sarpanch killing is political terrorism. We condemn this and demand the Election Commission to order a proper inquiry into the incidents. The administration should cooperate with the election body in the probe," he said. The changed stand on AFSPA follows a U turn on Article 370. Earlier the BJP was deadly against the Article and now the party seems all set to retain it if the people so wish. The ideologues who raised the Eak Pradhan, Eak Vidhan and Eak Nishaan slogan to seek abrogation of the Article must be taking painful turns in Parlok. Cracking joke of the day, he BJP leader said that some leaders including Chief Minister are "getting unnerved by Modi wave and are trying to communalise the atmosphere". The leader also talked about scrapping power sharing agreement with NHPC. "The first right to electricity is of the state subject and then some share can go outside. It is our thinking and ideology that people in any state should have the first right over what that state produces." This statement may cost BJP some seats in Delhi elections. He must know that most of the houses in North India get power from Jammu Kashmir. |
