Congress candidates file nomination papers , rallies taken out | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 1 : Pradesh Congress general secretary, Vikram Malhotra drew a massive crowd while filing his nomination papers from Jammu east constituency for the ensuing Assembly elections-2014, here today. The constituency goes to polls in the fifth and the last phase on December 20. After filing nomination before the returning officer, here, Vikram was taken around various localities in the constituency in a rally that was marked by a heavy turnout of supporters and party activists. He also addressed a huge gathering of people at Parade, where the rally culminated in the afternoon. Carrying Congress flags, banners and Vikram Malhotra's placards in their hands, thousands of supporters and activists either on foot or on two-wheelers and other vehicles covered through the city streets as the contesting candidate accompanied them by walking throughout the rally. Supporters were seen garlanding their leader and showering flower petals while shouting slogans in his favour.The rally that began from Panjtirthi, near Radio Station passed through various localities including Upper Bazar, Jain Bazar, Purani Mandi, Old Hospital Road, Rajinder Bazar, Residency Road and Raghunath Bazar before culminating at Parade. Vikram said that he was working actively in Jammu east constituency for the last so many years and has spent crores of rupees on the development in all the wards. He further said that divisive forces, be them at state or national level, cannot ensure development of all the three regions of the state. It is only and only Congress party which can carry along the hopes and aspirations of the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions of the state. Meanwhile another congress leader Mula Ram from Raipur Domana Constituency along with several congress workers files nomination papers for J&K assembly He appealed to the voters of raipurdomana constituency to make him victorious with heavy margin and put a tight on the face of political tourists who have come here just to quench their thirst of hunger. |
