JK performs poorly in Indian Innovation Index-2020 | Falls at bottom in the list of nine UTs | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
jammu, Jan 20: Jammu and Kashmir has performed poorly among the Union Territories of the country in the Indian Innovation Index-2020, a report released by Union government's think tank Niti Aayog, which provides the innovation landscape of the country.
The Indian Innovation Index-2020, a copy of which is in the possession of Early Times, is a combination of two dimensions viz-a-viz Enablers which comprised of four pillars including Human Capital, Investment, Knowledge Workers and Business environment, while the Performance comprised of three pillars including Safety and Legal Environment, Knowledge Output and Knowledge Diffusion.
Going by the above mentioned indicators, in the Innovation score among the list of nine UTs (Goa is also in the list), JK has scored 18.62 points putting at the bottom of list only above Lakshadeep with 11.71 points, while Delhi topped the list with 46.60 points.
Similarly, in Enablers score card, JK has got 26.83 points placing it at 6th slot in the UTs' list, while Chandigarh has topped the list with 41.52 points followed by Delhi ... | |

jammu, Jan 20: The incumbent chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Bank is reportedly doing little to address the mounting crisis due to the non- performing assets which are swelling with each passing day.
Documents in possession of the Early Times reveal that Gross NPAs of the Bank have increased by Rs 5,362.93 crore (833.05 per cent) from Rs 643.77 crore to Rs 6,006.70 crore in the past five years. SRINAGAR, Jan 20: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 109 new cases of Corona Virus today following which the number of positive cases reached 123647. No fresh virus related death was reported in the union territory in the past 24 hours or so.
Jammu district reported 38 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 36 cases, Budgam district seven cases, Anantnag district six cases, Baramulla, Pulwama, Kupwara and Kulgam districts three cases each, Bandipora and Udhampur districts two cases each and Shopian, Rajouri, Doda, Samba, Poonch & Reasi districts one case each.

jammu, Jan 20: Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency (JaKeGA) has virtually failed to make optimal utilization of State Data Center and spent huge amounts on extending its storage capacity despite no requirement.
Sources told Early Times that the State Data Centre (SDC) project was sanctioned in 2009 at an estimated cost of Rs 37 crore and was to be implemented by the Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency over a period of five years.
"Government of India had released funds of Rs 12 crore during 2009-10 to 2014-15, against which an expenditure of Rs 10 crore was incurred and remaining Rs 2 crore under this project remained unspent," they said.
