JU seeks Central University status 1/31/2009 12:09:33 AM MUNISH GUPTA Jammu, Jan 30: Nearly two months after he took over as Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, Prof Varun Sahni today batted for the Central University status to properly deliver on its expanded network. In his first ever interaction with the media, Prof Sahni pointed that his University has a large expansion with outer colleges and campuses and the Central University status will enable in maintaining expansion and further improving academic and infrastructure standards Holding out commitment on one major issue, Prof Sahni said, by 2010 the results will be declared in time by the Jammu University authorities as this is the major problem being faced by the university for so many years. ‘It is the main area to focus on and we are trying to make every effort to improve it. We have started work on computerization of the examination wing’, he added.
