Center to settle issues of refugees: Soz

Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 3: As parties in Jammu and Kashmir remain divided in the key issue, the Pradesh Congress Committee President Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz has said that he will get the issue of PoK and West Pakistan refugees settled through the Central Government. Soz was addressing a rally of refugees and other Congress supporters near here today. He was accompanied by Sports Minister RS Chib, Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla and former Deputy Chief Minister Mangat Ram Sharma. Soz claimed that it is the only congress Government which can settle the long pending issues of the Refugees. Addressing a huge gathering of the Refugees, Soz gives the refugees his best wishes for new year and said, “The people should welcome the first rain of the season as well as the first rain of the new year as it was the need of the hour”, he said “the rain for Jammu region and snow for the Kashmir region is very important”. Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 3: The ban on pre-paid mobile phone service in Jammu and Kashmir is likely to be lifted by January 15. The Centre is finalising a “fool-proof” plan to ensure proper verification of nearly 38 million cell phone subscribers in the State, official sources said here on Sunday. The Department of Telecom will file an affidavit this week in the Supreme Court about the measures being implemented by the government to ensure effective verification of the customer who purchases a pre-paid mobile number in the State, the sources said. Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 3: Militants had made an abortive bid to blow up a road side bunker of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) at Lal chowk, the nerve centre of summer capital Srinagar. Official sources today said militants hurdled a hand grenade towards CRPF bunker at Lal chowk. However, the grenade did not explode.
