Azad makes indirect attack on Omar for giving unnecessary publicity to Narendra Modi
"Reminds historic steps taken by Mufti during PDP-Cong regime"
12/7/2013 11:46:01 PM
War of words on Article 370 ET Report JAMMU, Dec 7: A week after BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi kicked-started debate on Article 370, the Congress leadership has realized that BJP has been getting publicity with the debate gaining momentum. As a visionary politician Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad realized that unnecessary controversy was created on Modi's speech because there was no need to react on this statement. Addressing a function organised by Choudhary Lal Singh, MP, at Kathua, Azad launched indirect attack on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for unnecessary reacting on Modi's statement on Article 370 and giving him (Modi) unwanted publicity. "It is habit of BJP leadership to raise one issue in one state and another in another state to trigger controversy for taking political mileage", he said while referring towards Narendra Modi's controversial statements. "Those who raised Article 370 has no work to done but those who unnecessary reacted on his (Modi's) speech has many others things to do rather reacting on such statements", ...

NC moving close to BJP, ignores Congress
12/7/2013 11:45:24 PM
Mustansir Srinagar, Dec 7: A senior Congress leader from Kashmir who accused National Conference of 'backstabbing and breach of coalition dharma' would not have even dreamt of his statement proving correct, however, the events unfolded since December1 when BJP Prime Ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi addressed a mammoth rally in Jammu, suggest that the National Conference has reached some secret deal with the rightwing party. The latest developments at the political landscape in Jammu and Kashmir suggest National Conference leadership being conscious of the fact that chances of Congress forming the next government at centre being very bleak, is looking at reviving the working relat...

Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 7: Backed by a powerful politician, three Revenue officials who fraudulently allowed illegal stone quarrying over state land in Udhampur district are using all possible means to get their suspension revoked. Such is the political pressure that Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Vikas Sharma did not utter even a single word when asked about the fate of inquiry he was entrusted with by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Udhampur Yasha Mudgal after the three officials were suspended on October 28. However, it has been learnt reliably that the three are likely to be challaned within next few days. Despite the case being watertight against the three accused officials, so...

12/7/2013 11:46:09 PM

Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah agreed to play the role. In his converted Kashmir-A bitter saga of religious conversion, Narender Sehgal unveils the secret correspondence between the Sheikh and Glancy. On December 6, 1935 Sheikh Abdullah wrote a letter to Glancy offering his services to secure the interests...

Debate with Modi will be difficult Mr CM
12/7/2013 11:44:41 PM
Bivek Mathur Jammu, Dec 7: How Chief Minister Omar Abdullah dared BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for a debate over Art 370 when under his nose outsiders are enjoying all the privileges granted under the article? It is going to be very difficult for the Chief Minister. While addressing a press conference here today Choudhary Nazakat Khatana, State President, Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakerwal Desh Youth Body produced documentary evidence to prove that Rajinder Singh Chouhan, believed to be a resident of Himachal Pradesh was operating a nexus to grab state land. Article 370 not infallible
12/7/2013 11:44:29 PM
Rustam JAMMU, Dec 7: BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi did exceedingly well on December 1 by asking the votaries of pernicious, anti-people, anti-democratic and fundamentally separatist and communal Article 370 to come forward to have a debate on it to find if it has benefited the people of the state or not. Kashmiri leadership, the Congress and similar other communal parties like the JDU, the CPI, the CPI-M and the SP did not appreciate his suggestion. Their leadership continues to attack Narendra Modi and the BJP. Their argument is that Narendra Modi raked up the issue only to take political mileage and improve the party's poll prospects. Instead of coming forward to join th...

Article 370 bars other Indians from buying properties in J&K
Cat is out of the bag
12/7/2013 11:43:56 PM
Neha JAMMU, Dec 7: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah says Article 370 has nothing to do with property and residency rights. He is right. It is the State Subject laws enacted in 1927 during the regime of Maharaja Hari Singh and amended from time to time after 1927 which have everything to do with property and residency rights in the state. However, it is a different story that the Kashmiri leadership, which had opposed the State Subject laws during the regime of Maharaja Hari Singh, adopted them and has been implementing them ruthlessly. That the Kashmiri leadership and it's supporters in Jammu, including the Congresswallas, have abused and misused the State Subject laws could be seen from the f...
