JAMMU, Jan 31: Even as the response of the opposition political parties has been no different than those in ruling alliance in turning deaf ears and blind eye to conduct of Police towards women, the scene is even more disgusting and disappointing from the women's organizations and NGOs supposedly working for the cause of dignity , rights and respect of women in the State. Notwithstanding their active role in day to day functioning all spinning around women and their exploitation , misconduct at the hands of Police, these have turned mute and dumb despite it having come to light in the Nago CD that senior cops during the course of interrogation have used utterly vulgar ...

| | | | Capital in Jammu, Ministers in Valley | | Thanks giving to Chief Minister? | | | ET Report
JAMMU, Jan 31: Taking a clue from the statement of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah about reversing the Darbar move, his Council of Ministers has virtually shifted the Darbar to the Valley this winter.
The Civil Secretariat in Jammu is wearing a deserted look as most of the Ministers of National Conference-Congress coalition Government are stationed in Valley in a bid to appease the Chief Minister. For this week, the newly appointed Minister of State (MoS) with independent charge of Industries and Commerce Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo has to occupy the winter secretariat in Srinagar but many other Ministers, including Rural Development Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar, Law Minister Mir Saif...
| | | | Coalition of 'fraud, corruption, inefficiency & lack of vision' | | PDP & NC's pre-poll suggestion | | | Neha
JAMMU, Jan 31: It is not election time in Jammu and Kashmir. Elections to the Assembly would be held in December 2014 if things remain as they are. The NC will continue to rule till 2014 as there is no possibility of the Congress withdrawing its support to the Government the former has been heading. But the war of words between the ruling NC and the main opposition PDP has already escalated. If, on the one hand, the PDP has made it a point to use each and every available opportunity to expose the "ideological bankruptcy" of NC and what it calls its "anti-people" policies, the NC has, on the other hand, unleashed a relentless campaign against the PDP with a view to creating an impressi...

Early Times Report
srinagar, Jan 31: Even as the panchayat members resign in large numbers, the Government is boasting of their empowerment which has not been translated into reality till date.
According to political circles, this is like showing them the starts and snatching the ground beneath. The ruling coalition started a discourse on the empowerment of Panchayats two years back but reached no where. In the process many elected representatives fell to the bullets but the Government while downplaying the seriousness of the issues always resorted to sloganeering.
Even on that front (empowerment of Panchs and Sarpanchs) the coalition partners are at loggerheads with Congress propo...
