As Jammu continues to be firm on it demand of restoration of forest land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board despite New Delhi’s entire attention on the developments in Kashmir, the winter capital city and its adjoining areas today observed a sort of civil curfew.
In continuous extension in relaxation of restrictions, the authorities today lifted curfew for 12 hours and people across the town and its adjoining areas refused to resume normal activity of life. It was a sort of civil curfew in the town as no one rushed to resume the normal life despite 12 hours long relaxation, Jammu City and its adjoining areas observed a complete shutdown.

Large scale violence today erupted in Kashmir Valley where another 12 people were killed in firing by the security forces after they found the situations going out of hands. Worst tension of past 13 years is reported to have erupted in the Valley where violent mobs are taking to streets in protests against the Police firing on people who were staging a march towards the Line of Control on Monday. With situation literally going out of control in almost all parts of Jammu and Kashmir, except Ladakh, the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has called an all party meeting in New Delhi tomorrow to devise a strategy for restoration of peace. Members of Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti have been finally invited by the Prime Minister for the talks.

Taking advantage of the internal turbulence in different parts of state, the militant cadres have become active to unleash sabotage thus giving a tough job to the security forces.
