| Leaves opponents far behind by announcing 6 health institutes to JK | | Azad plays master stroke at appropriate time | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 17: The Union health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad's decision to setup four medical colleges and two cancer institutes in Jammu and Kashmir seems to have shattered his and his party's political opponents who were dreaming of capturing Lok Sabha seats in the State. Azad, with this decision, has shunt everybody out as no such step in the history of country has ever been taken in which Jammu and Kashmir has been given so much. It is a fact that J&K on the whole has been ignored with respect to health and other departments but since Azad's had taken over the reins of union health ministry and was adjudged as best ever health minister by a national news channel, people of the State were hoping that health facilities may improve. Earlier, taking steps under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) due to which people got health facilities at their doorstep and many educated youth got employment; this decision of Azad will provide people specialized treatment at their doorstep is a biggest step which has put his opponents on back foot. This move will certainly dent the aspirations of few parties who are eyeing at getting Lok Sabha as well as Assembly seats. These parties were trying to push the Congress party to the wall because of the mistakes done by leaders from outside Jammu and Kashmir. Azad's tenure as J&K Chief Minister is seen as golden era with respect to development and now his decision to announce six health institutes from Centre has made him undefeatable. |
