| `Condom kay bena hasina, Kitna risk hai? | | 92.7 Big FM falls from grace | | ET Report JAMMU, Feb 17: 92.7 Big FM is falling from grace slowly but surely. The channel that provided entertainment for the past few years, it seems, is getting polluted. Slogans like `Condom kay bena hasina, kitna risk hai' reflect the rot that the channel has undergone. The channel is encouraging what some modern people call `safe sex'. To put it plainly, the condom, according to Big FM is a licence to have sex. What will it lead to? A society where promiscuity and licentiousness is already on the rise and where culture is stripped day in and day out in the name of modernization deserves some decent and meaningful broadcasts. There is no denying the fact that the above slogan is part of an advertisement but a broadcasting house of repute has to be choosy with the content it airs including the advertisements. Nobody is interested in delivering a sermon to a generation that spends around 18 hours on the internet. They have information about family planning, gay and lesbian rights and a host of issues. They understand the importance of the condom as well. But all this is done behind closed doors. Public display of such crudeness has been witnessed for the first time. Jammu and Kashmir has developed and progressed but certainly not degraded to the extent where a father can discuss a condom with his son. The channel must mend its ways. There is absolutely no room for the vulgarity that it has been selling for quite some time now. |
