| NC workers, Revenue officials involved | | Hanuman Temple land grab | | Javaid Naikoo
Srinagar, Feb 16: The NC-Revenue official nexus are allegedly involved in selling the temple land, while as memorial trusts of Kashmiri Pandits are tired of waking up concerned officials. At a time when Revenue officials deny information to social activists about the Revenue records of historical Hanuman temple of Kathidarwaza Srinagar, some Revenue officials in nexus with NC workers encroached a large portion of the temple land and constructed houses on the said land are secretly approaching the money lenders of the area to buy the land on cheap rates with fake Revenue documents. Despite the matter being brought to the notice of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and Revenue Commissioner by one Kashmiri Pandit memorial trust namely Premnath Bhat memorial trust after Early Times exposed the land scam on 11/04/201, However, locals of the area said that some Patwaris enjoy political influence of a noted female NC worker not only allowed the said female NC worker to encroach a large portion of the temple land to construct house on it but are also selling the remaining part of temple land and everything according to the sources is happening in the knowledge of highly placed officials of the department of revenue and Muncipal corporation. Hailing Early Times of taking up the matter regularly Dr Arjan Nath, Chairman of Premnath Bhat memorial trust said that members do their best to bring the matter in the notice of all the concerned but all in vain. He said it is unfortunate that some noted NC workers are using their political influence to encroach the temple land in nexus with Revenue officials and despite the matter being highlighted in media and brought in the notice of concerned officials to act upon, however now tired of attempts their trust sees no ray of hope that NC led government can preserve the legacy of Kashmiri migrant Pandits across Kashmir. Pertinently as the sources earlier in 2013 informed that some noted Revenue officials have misplaced the revenue records of Hanuman Temple deliberately, many RTI applications seeking information about the revenue records of Hanuman temple land were also filed with the Public Information Officer of the office of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and in the office of Tehsildar North, yet according to the document details available with Early Times all the RTI applications filed so far were denied information and instead excuses were given to applicants. |
