Jammu, Feb 17: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by BR Manahas Advocate by profession against utter discrimination is being meted out the 'Dogri' language( both by the Central and the State Government), the Division Bench (DB) of state High Court issued notice to Union of India, Secretary Ministry of Finance Government of India, New Delhi, Reserve Bank of India, Secretary Ministry of Human Resource Development, Secretary Department of Official Languages, Chief Secretary Jammu & Kashmir Government, University of Jammu, and J&K Board of School Education and directed them to file their response before March 17, 2014. Division Bench comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur after hearing BR Manhas in person in a case regarding PIL seeking direction to the respondents Union of India to place Dogri language in Dogri script on the language panel of Currency notes designed by the Central Government and direction to the State of Jammu and Kashmir to introduce teaching of Dogri language compulsory in schools from 1st Standard issued notice to Union of India through Secretary Ministry of Home Affairs, Secretary Ministry of Finance Government of India, New Delhi, Reserve Bank of India through its Governor, Secretary Ministry of Communication and IT, Secretary Ministry of Human Resource Development, Secretary Department of Official Languages, Chief Secretary Jammu & Kashmir Government, University of Jammu, and J&K Board of School Education and directed them to file their response before March 17, 2014.
