Safai Karamcharis on strike; Katra turns into heap of garbage 2/17/2014 11:00:58 PM Katra, Feb 17: Katra, town, the base camp of Vaishno Devi shrine, has turned into heap of garbage due to strike by Safai Karamchari. Due to garbage, the pilgrims face difficulties to up to Baan Ganga. The Safai Karamcharis of Muncipal Committee Katra had been on strike for the last two days to press the government to concede with their demand of absolving them. Speaking to the reporter, the president of the Safai Karamcharis namely Kala and Secretary Bhadru, said that earlier they were given lollypop by the DC Reasi that their demand to permanent would be considered ,when they went on strike.
