MP Chhewang's resignation left Centre with no option but to fulfill long pending demands of Ladakh
Ladakhi leaders chose people over power, Jammu leaders reaped benefits of power
2/9/2019 11:43:07 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 9: BJP leaders from Jammu region should learn a lesson from the leaders of Ladakh region, who preferred their people over power. BJP Member Parliament from Ladakh Thupstan Chhewang had tendered his resignation from Parliament in November last year. In a letter written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah he had said that he is resigning from the Parliament as BJP has failed to fulfill the promises which were made by the party to the people of Ladakh. An analyst while talking to Early Times said that the "pressure exerted" by Chewang activated the BJP led NDA government at the Centre and as a follow up action the government first gave divisional status to Ladakh and then carved it out as a separate division from Kashmir. "Chhewang leaving his MP seat left the BJP led government with no other option other than fulfilling the long pending demand of the people of Ladakh," he added. A politician said that BJP leaders before coming into power made tall promises to the people of Jammu but after reaching to the corridors o...

People of this region have already rejected PDP's communal politics
Mehbooba has not locus standi to speak about "Chenab Valley"
2/9/2019 11:42:57 PM
Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 9: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, who is brazenly playing religious card to divide Jammu region on communal line, has no moral authority to talk about "ChenabValley" because residents of this mountainous region had out-rightly rejected PDP in the 2014 assembly elections. Except Banihal and Bhaderwah assembly segments, PDP candidates had failed to get even respectable votes in the 2014 assembly elections so neither Mehbooba Mufti nor her party leaders have representative character to speak about residents of this region. Interestingly both the PDP candidates who had secured respectable votes namely B A Runiyal from Banihal and Mehboob Iqbal from Bhaderwah have...

Former J&K CM fumes, disassociates himself from election campaign
2/9/2019 11:42:47 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 9: Ghulam Nabi Azad's purported announcement of dissociating himself from various committees announced yesterday by Rahul Gandhi, has once again brought into fore his difference with PCC president G A Mir and factionalism in State unit of Congress. These committees, particularly Election Campaign Committee and Publicity Committee, clearly tell about groupism in the State Congress as various senior leaders, who have given decades to the party, have not been included in any of these panels whereas some blue eyed without any designation in the organization, have been inducted in all the committees. More ironic is the placement of senior most leader and Leade...

Early Times Report srinagar, Feb 9: In a bid to appease voters of each region of the state ahead of assembly and parliamentary elections, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) has adopted a strategy by seeking votes from the people of three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh on different issues based on their relevance in the area.
