Jammu, July 27: The issue of more than 130 people holding fake Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) is all set to snowball into a major controversy as maximum of them are influential and are counted among top notch people of Jammu.
Pertinently, the Jammu and Kashmir government tried its best to put the issue under the carpet soon after the Jammu and Kashmir State Subject Commission (JKSSC) declared that nearly 130 persons, who are residing in posh colonies in Jammu and own property worth crores posses fake PRCs. As the top notch businessmen figured in the list they used their influence and somehow tried to push the matter under the carpet but JKSSC forwarding the list to Revenue Department has opened a Pandora's box, despite the Commission succumbing under the political pressure and not cancelling these PRCs.
According to the list which is in possession of Early Times, nearly 130 names figure in the list.

SRINAGAR, July 27: The orders issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) from time to time have not been implemented in letter and spirit. This leads to the impression that many a slip between the cup and the lip with the implementation part missing of the orders issued.
GAD issued an order more than two weeks back with respect to the delegation of drawing and disbursing powers to the Accounts Officers and Chief Accounts Officers in the state. However, the order has not been implemented by all the departments with the concerned officers found wanting in carrying out their professional services.

SRINAGAR, July 27: People of Langate constituency of north Kashmir's Kupwara held protests on Monday against alleged land grab by local MLA Sheikh Abdul Rashid alias Engineer Rashid. Rashid denies the charges, though.
Dozens of people from the area gathered at Srinagar's Press Enclave, shouting anti-Rashid slogans.
"Gunda raaj band karo," shouted the protesters, accusing Rashid of illegally grabbing land of a man in his constituency.
