AHMED ALI FAYYAZ SRINAGAR, Feb 13: Superintendent of Police East, V K Birdi, who is investigating the broad daylight murder of Zahid Farooq Sheikh of Brain Nishat, has established the criminal involvement of BSF Commandant, R K Birdi, as all 13 eyewitnesses of the paramilitary force today deposed that the detained accused, Constable Lakhwinder Kumar, had fired upon the teenager on the orders of his officer. The statements recorded by the Investigating Officer (IO) have made it clear that BSF’s Special Director General, P P S Sidhu, had doled out lies at his news conference here the other day to shield the real criminal of the gruesome killing. Well-placed sources revealed to Early Times that the IO today recorded statements of all 13 eyewitnesses of the paramilitary force which led to establishment of the BSF Commandant R K Birdi’s criminal involvement in Zahid Farooq’s broad daylight killing. Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 13 : At least 11 passengers were today injured, three critically, when an overcrowded bus skidded off the road at Mendhar in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. A local passenger vehicle with registration number JK02M8623 -- was on its way from Uchhad to Mendhar when it met with an accident at about 1115 hrs, police said. All passengers, including the injured, were evacuated from the vehicle, which, the sources said, was carrying more passengers than its authorised capacity. Infiltration bid foiled on LoC in Poonch

Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 13: Amid ceasefire violation by Pakistan, an infiltration bid was foiled on the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati sub-sector of Mendhar in Poonch this evening. Official sources said Pak army opened fire from their Daku and Battal outposts on Kranti and Kirpan forward Indian positions at about 6.15 pm to fascilitate infiltration. They fired RPG rocckets and used machine guns, the sources added. India retaliated and put troops all along the LoC on high alert to foil any infiltration bid by the Pak-based militants.
