JAMMU, Feb 21: Call it an irony of misfortunes that the Government that impelled the youth of the State to work at less than half their legitimate wages for the first five years of their careers in the veil of 'New Recruitment Policy' arguing paucity of resources, announced Club Class air travel for its Legislators besides doubling their car and home loan ceilings and DA for attending the sittings of the Legislature.
This bonanza for the legislators was announced for the 'honourables' the previous day notwithstanding the fact that just two years back, the legislators had accorded sanction to a proposal to more than double their salaries within no time. JAMMU, Feb 21: The violation of transfer policy is going on unabated in Finance department as 17 officials are presently overstaying at various posts in several Government departments.
Sources informed Early Times that as per transfer policy of State Government, the minimum stay on a particular post should not be less than 2 years and not more than 3 years, but several others are holding the posts for more than three years, due to the reasons best known to concerned authorities.

JAMMU, Feb 21: State Government's repeated claim that religious places of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir valley have been restored was exposed today when it admitted in the legislative council that 185 out of 542 religious places in Valley are still in the damaged or dilapidated conditions.

Jammu, Feb21: Government today informed the Legislative Assembly that Government Medical Colleges of Jammu and Srinagar have been reeling under shortage of 433 faculty members.
In reply to questions of Professor Chaman Lal Gupta and Abdul Rehman Veeri, the government said that 278 posts of faculty members have been lying vacant in Government Medical College, Srinagar and 155 in the Government Medical College, Jammu.
