| Azad harmed Jammu more as compared to other CMs | | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 16: Ghulam Nabi Azad says that he belongs to Jammu and he did much for it. It is an exaggerated statement. The fact is that he has hit the people of Jammu province below the belt. Just one example will be enough to expose his bias against Jammu and it relates to the implementation of the so-called Wazir Commission recommendations.
As per the Wazir Commission report of 1983, Jammu deserved a minimum of 10 districts and Kashmir only 7 (Report of the Commission for Rationalization of Administrative Units, December 1983, PP. 12, 61, 214, 362). EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 16: As for the assertion of Farooq Abdullah that his father never compromised on the integrity of the state, it was nothing but an attempt to mislead the people. It was an exercise in self-deception. He did not reveal that Jawaharlal Nehru had ordered ceasefire in 1948 at the instance of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and he had ordered ceasefire when the Indian army had gained upper hand and the Pakistani raiders, regular or otherwise, were retreating. One must read Prem Shankar Jha's Rival versions in history for knowing the real reasons behind the ceasefire.
Had the then Indian Government not endorsed the Sheikh's line, the Indian Army would have capture... | |
