| Azad not just harmed Jammu, he harmed Congress as well | | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 19: Ghulam Nabi Azad became Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir on November 2, 2005. The people of Jammu had welcomed his elevation to the office of Chief Minister. The main reason was that it was for the first time that a Jammu-based politician became the executive head of the state. Earlier, the office of the Chief Minister was considered as the sole preserve of Kashmir.
The appointment of Azad as Chief Minister obviously made the people of Jammu province believe that a new day of rational hopes on their part was about to dawn. Unfortunately, however, it did not happen. Azad pursued policies his predecessors had followed to benefit Kashmir and jeopardize the legitimate interests of the people of Jammu. It is an established fact that he harmed the people of Jammu province more as compared to his Kashmiri predecessors. The manner in which he subverted the Wazir Commission report and created four districts each in Kashmir and Jammu is just one example that indicated his bias towards the people of Jammu region. JAMMU, May 19: Maintaining their supremacy in the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School (JKBOSE) examinations, girls outperformed boys in the overall pass percentage of this year's Class 12th exams announced by the board this afternoon.
The girls made virtually a clean sweep in Arts stream by securing 10 positions (shared by 12 students) while the boys outshone girls in prestigious Science stream and managed to clinch first position. However, the first ten positions in Commerce stream were equally shared by girls and boys (five each).

| | | | Ex-CRPF jawan held for militant links | | | | RAJOURI: A retired CRPF jawan was today arrested by police and troops of 39 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) from his house at Thera in Mendhar, Poonch, for his alleged links with militants.
Police sources said acting on a tip-off that ex-CRPF cop Mohammad Khaliq had developed links with militants, a joint team of Mendhar police and 39 RR jawans raided his residence at Thera.
The search of his house led jawans to the recovery of 11 Pak-made detonators, an IED weighing 3 kg and 10 safety fuses, the sources added.

KATHUA, May 19: Chetan Chalotra, a student of R S J N Higher Secondary School Kathua and the topper in the Plus Two examinations in Science stream with a total score of 712, wants to become an IAS officer.
He has scored 141, 148 and 147 in Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology while he managed to get 138 marks each in English and Chemistry.
