Srinagar, May 5: The Jammu and Kashmir Bank has drastically cut down its prime lending rate by 175 basis points from 14.50 per cent to 12.75 per cent. From sectoral point of view, the interest rates have been even slashed down by 3.75 per cent. In a bid to crank up the craft economy of the state, the Bank also announced four significant financial products under a special package for the revival of craft industries that have been hit hard by the severe global economic recession.

Pleasant weather, cloudy sky and cool breeze- it was a perfect day for the city residents who enjoyed the welcome change after last week’s hot and sweltering days.
The temperature too, showed signs of improvement with the city recording a minimum temperature of 19.0 degree Celsius and a maximum of 32.2 degree Celsius. Severe heat wave conditions which developed over Jammu region from the last 10 to 15 days have now started diminishing as the overnight thunder showers brought much needed relief to the people from scorching heat waves.
