SRINAGAR, Jun 7: Ending its policy of tolerance towards the separatist hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s much repeated calls of shutdown in Kashmir, Omar Abdullah-led coalition government of National Conference (NC) and Congress has finally launched a crackdown on the Valley’s separatist leaders and arrested a number of them---including Geelani and the Mirwaiz Hurriyat functionary, Nayeem Khan. Government has also demolished Dukhtaraan-e-Millat’s scheduled rally at Iddgah in Srinagar and decided to fail Geelani’s call for a massive march to Shopian on Monday.
Hours after the Hurriyat (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, declared to end current spell of 8-day-long shutdown from Tuesday next and issued a 7-day-long calendar of protests, Police swooped on the residences and offices of several separatist leaders and detained a number of them. Kishtwar June 7:- Twenty six persons, including nine members from one family, were feared dead and seven others received multiple injuries in two consecutive occurred on Doda-Kishtwar National Highway 1B today.
The first accident occurred at 12.15 PM, when a mini bus bearing registration no JK06-0749 met with an accident near Prem Nager 20 kilometers from district headquarter Doda in which about 25 passengers were feared dead and five others including the mini bus conductor received minor injuries, while the other accident happened near Nai Basti Sawgawhari only 5 kilometer from the site of first accident.

Srinagar, June 7: Finding itself corned from all sides by unending protests and demonstrations against blatant violation of human rights, the Omar Abdullah government today unleashed a media gag in Kashmir to manipulate a selective flow of information in the besieged Valley.
The Government today put a partial ban on local cable based news channels of 10 districts in Kashmir valley. The ban has been put on news channel for showing instigating news items.

Jammu, June 07: With annual Amarnath yatra set to commence from June 15, over 1.55 lakh people have so far registered themselves for the pilgrimage.
"Over 1.55 lakh devotees have been registered for Amarnath pilgrimage at 110 registration counters across the country and online till today. The highest number of 52,700 have been registered from Delhi zone," sources said.
Of the total registered, 71,700 people have been registered for pilgrimage via Baltal route, while 82,300 others will trek via Pahalgam route, they said.
