As wireless intercepts unfold militant plans to make infiltration bids on I-Day eve, forces put on high alert
8/13/2012 11:22:16 PM
Bharat Bhushan JAMMU, Aug 13: As the wireless intercepts made by Indian agencies in the past few days have unfolded militant plans to make fresh infiltration bids on the eve of Independence Day, border troops and police have been put on high alert. "SHOs of all the police stations in Jammu region have been asked to exercise extra vigil in the areas that fall under their jurisdiction as any laxity on their part may help the enemy agents to create disturbance on, or before Independence Day," a senior police officer said. He said the SHOs had been asked to lay night ambushes at vulnerable places and keep an eye on suspects and outsiders in their areas. The officer said the wireless intercepts made by the Indian agencies in the past few days had unfolded plans of militants to infiltrate into J&K. In a way, these intercepts suggested that there was frustration on the part of Pak-based militant commanders due to the failed infiltration bids in the past. "These intercepts are also seen by the agencies as a sign of growing frustration among militant commanders in Pakistan after the d...

Inquilabi seeks implementation of Aug 13 resolution?
8/13/2012 11:21:35 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 13: Mahaz-e-Azadi chief, Azam Inquilabi has urged the UN Secretary General, Ban-ki-Moon to implement August 13, 1948 resolution on Kashmir. Azam Inquilabi is a voracious reader and has been in politics for more than five decades. However, today's statement reflects his ignorance about the resolutions. The August 13 resolution does not make a mention of India and Pakistan. Pro-Independence groups believe that it has scope for third option. They have time and again demanded repeal of January 5, 1949 resolution that has restricted the choice between India and Pakistan. However, Inquilabi must know that the two resolutions cannot be implemented in isolation....

Mufti sounds bugle, makes intentions clear
8/13/2012 11:21:16 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 13: Before Assembly elections PDP has made its intentions clear: wants to go alone and aim for single largest party. Party patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohmmad Sayeed on eve of foundation day celebration of party at Jammu questioned the role of Congress for not asserting it itself on 73rd and 74th Constitutional amendments, aimed at strengthening grass root democracy, which is being championed by the Congress. It's an important demand of the Congress and by remaining silent on this issue the party is doing more harm to it on two accounts: being perceived as playing a role of second fiddle and working against the interest of the Jammu region. Mu...

Muftis' blistering attack on NC-Congress coalition
Looking Beyond Kashmir
8/13/2012 11:20:50 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 13: The People's Democratic Party (PDP), which was established 13 years ago by former J&K Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to neutralize the influence of the National Conference (NC) of the Abdullahs, has been very active for months now. It has been organizing political activities and holding conventions of party workers at regular intervals in Kashmir with a view to consolidating and expanding further its constituency. It has been successful in mobilizing public opinion against what it calls the most corrupt, irresponsible, undemocratic and insensitive State Government led by the NC and blindly supported by the Congress. That the PDP had already created a...

Congress-NC "anti-Dogras" & "anti-Jammu"
Three Regional Assemblies
8/13/2012 11:20:28 PM
Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 13: The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) chairman, Bhim Singh, has yet again accused the Congress and the National Conference (NC) of being "anti-Dogras and anti-Jammu" and warned the coalition Government that any failure on its part to dispense justice to the people of Jammu Pradesh, especially the youth, would provoke political explosions in this most neglected part of the country and that if it happens, the results would be disastrous for these two out fits. People do agree with Bhim Singh and say that "whatever he has been saying from time to time about the NC and the Congress is absolutely correct" and that "anything can happen in Jammu P...
