| Forces told to tighten security grid | | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 20: Security forces, deployed in Jammu and Kashmir, have been directed to intensify operations against militants who had carved out hideouts in different parts of the state. These instructions have been given following inputs from the intelligence agencies that the security scenario in the state may witness turmoil after the Eid celebrations were over.
Police authorities today said that the inputs revealed that the anti-India forces were planning to launch a two-pronged campaign for pushing up the level of unr est and turmoil.According to these authorities, hardliners among the separatists have already announced starting another phase of "intifada"(peoples' resistence) in protest against delay in withdrawing troops and in settling the Kashmir issue and against alleged increase in human rights violations. | Indian troops move to China border, army says it is routine | | | |

Tawang (AP), Sep 20: India has moved hundreds of troops to the Chinese border along the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, but an army officer said Sunday that this was a routine winter exercise.
A visiting news correspondent saw 60 to 70 trucks carrying soldiers proceeding towards the Chinese border in Tawang and nearby posts, snaking through a rough mountainous terrain at an altitude of over 14,000 feet.Army officials denied they were deploying extra soldiers in the forward posts.

The age-old barter system is back along the Sino-Indian border but with a twist as Indian traders smuggle daily needs into Tibet in exchange for fancy Chinese goods through the Line of Actual Control.

Jammu, Sept 20: An Army jawan allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at Kaluchak quarters in Jammu district.
Sepoy Divender Singh had recently come back from 15 days leave and had brought his wife and mother along with him. Jammu, Sept 19- In a major reshuffle Jammu and Kashmir High Court today ordered transfers and postings of 47 Judges of Subordinate judiciary.
This is for the first time that transfer orders were approved and issued without holding full court meeting of High Court judges. It was also the first such major reshuffle after Justice Barin Gosh took as a Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High court, the official sources said.
