As the dust begins to settle down after two months of turmoil, the government is getting tough with its employees who were at the forefront if the agitation on Amarnath land row.
After nine employees were punished in Kishtwar, the district administration of Poonch has suspended five employees on the charges of inciting communal passions. The Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti has taken serious view of the suspension of two of the five employees and warned the state government against any further move against employees.

Almost every thing is coming back to track after two months of shut down except for the postal services as hundreds of mails are still locked in the bags.
“I have missed my interview as I didn’t get the call letter in times…my family is dying with hunger as I have not received the money order sent by my son…we are yet receive the Rakhi thread…” these are the sentences often heard these days after turmoil. Implementing a Judgment of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, also upheld by the Supreme Court of India the state Government today cleared promotion of 38 Deputy Superintendents of Police to rank of Superintendent of Police with retrospective effect from 2002. The promotees are from the 1979 batch of Sub Inspectors.
According to Government Order Number Home -597 (P) of 2008 issued today, 38 DySPs (Selection Grade) have been to promoted to the post of Superintendents of Police with effect from March 1, 2002 in the pay scale of Rs 10000-15200.
