Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 4 At least eleven people were killed, 24 others injured, three of them critically when a transport vehicle in which they were traveling skidded off the road and fell into river Chenab in Kishtwar district. The mini bus was bearing registration number JK06-760 was going from Kishtwar to Thathri when it met with an accident. Reports said that the driver of the bus lost control as the mata door skidded off the road just two-kms short of its destination. Police launched rescue operation with the help of local army authorities and para military and shifted the injured to the hospital for medical treatment. Five of the injured who were in critical condition have been shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital here where there condition was still adverse. They were first moved to the local hospital but in view of their deteriorating condition, the five injured passengers were brought in to Jammu. Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 4 As the dust begins to settle down after two months of turmoil, the government is getting tough with its employees who were at the forefront if the agitation on Amarnath land row. After nine employees were punished in Kishtwar, the district administration of Poonch has suspended five employees on the charges of inciting communal passions. Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 4 Incessant firing, shelling and frequent cases of infiltration from other side have once again put the residents along border areas in deep sense of insecurity. Early Times Reporter Jammu | Sep 4 Implementing a Judgment of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, also upheld by the Supreme Court of India the state Government today cleared promotion of 38 Deputy Superintendents of Police to rank of Superintendent of Police with retrospective effect from 2002. The promotees are from the 1979 batch of Sub Inspectors. According to Government Order Number Home -597 (P) of 2008 issued today, 38 DySPs (Selection Grade) have been to promoted to the post of Superintendents of Police with effect from March 1, 2002 in the pay scale of Rs 10000-15200.
