Vigilance all set to implicate Tara Chand, Kewal in Class-IV recruitment scam | Both likely to be included in FIR after Assembly polls | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 14: Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand and his Deputy PRO Kewal Sharma are likely to be implicated by the Vigilance Organization in infamous Class IV recruitment scam in Education Department as one of the accused has agreed to become approver in the case.
State Vigilance Organization, which has already registered an FIR against the Chief Education Officer Jammu Tarsem Lal and three others in the scam, is learnt to have established the role of Tara Chand and Kewal Sharma in influencing the selection of candidates for Class-IV posts.
Since the duo was not directly involved in the selection process and hence could not be implicated in the FIR in initial phase, sources said that their role surfaced during investigation of the case. Main accused in the case and others, against whom FIR has been registered, have confessed that selection of the candidates was manipulated on the alleged directions of Deputy CM and his Dy PRO, sources added. SRINAGAR, Dec 14: Around 50 percent voters exercised their franchise as 18 assembly constituencies spread across four districts of Kashmir and Jammu divisions went to the polls today. Barring few minor incidents the polling remained by and large peaceful.
