Released from house arrest, PDP leader hobnobs with ousted colleague

Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 6: Even as a senior leader of the Peoples Democratic Party was recently "released from house arrest", the man in question is hobnobbing with his ousted colleague with rumor mills being rife that the former may also leave the PDP to join the latter in the coming months. Sources said the leader, whose son is also a politician, had been in good relations with the other leader, a businessman turned politician, who was ousted from the PDP some months ago. Sources said the two had been in constant touch with each other and that it was on the "personal intervention" of the businessman-turned-politician that the father-son duo was released one after the other in the last three odd months. Sources said the businessman-turned-politician has asked the PDP leader to "mobilize his cadres in north Kashmir for a political change." The sources in the PDP said the party is aware of the "unwanted" affinity between their party colleague and the ousted leader.
