With Rana, Nasir at important positions; NC grass- root workers feel betrayed by party leadership | Take jibe at Omar for failing to connect with people on ground | | Jehangir Rashid
SRINAGAR, Apr 6: As the National Conference President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah is all set to file his nomination papers for Srinagar-Budgam Lok Sabha seat on Monday the grass-root workers of the party are quite worried over the disconnect of party leaders especially Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah with the people on ground.
The traditional National Conference workers and activists are quite worried that the younger lot of party leaders is keeping them away as if they have nothing done for the party. This they believe is the reason that some of the seasoned campaigners and leaders have parted their ways with the party.
"National Conference was considered to be a party of the basic ground workers or grass-root workers who lived across the length and breadth of the state. However, the things have changed and there is no more respect as well as regard for the people who offered everything to the party," said a group of NC workers.
The grass-root workers opine that with people like Nasir Aslam Wani and Devinder Singh Rana assuming important positions in the party the vetera...

It seems as if the entire government has gone on holiday. More interesting is the acute drop in the number of visitors to the civil secretariat. Routine administrative issues which would otherwise remain pending due to other important works are being taken up and resolved. One can smell how relaxed the IAS and KAS officers are due to the absence of ministers and their supporters from the civil s...

Jammu, Apr 6: As campaign is in full swing for three Parliamentary seats of Kashmir as well, wooing Kashmiri Pandits as crucial vote bank in many segments has also started, this time NC is seeing it more as threat in competing with its rival PDP on that score. This became more than evident today when none other than the Chief Minister Omar Abdhullah himself showed what could be viewed as desperate attempt to garner KP votes using hate PDP strategy at his party's best tool. More than telling the community what NC could do for it in ameliorating their sufferings, Omar chose to remind the KPs what PDP thinks about it what its leadership had in mind in the past.
