K D MAINA POONCH, Oct 22: ‘President’ of the Pakistan administered Kashmir, Raja Zulqarnain Khan has said that trade across two sides of the Line of Control will bring people closer to each other but this is in no way a solution to the Kashmir issue. In a goodwill gesture, Raja Zulqarnain accompanied the goods carriers from Rawalakote for the inward journey to Poonch till Chakkan-da-Bagh. A colourful function by the artists of other side was held across Zero Point when the PaK President signaled the goods carriers for their entry to this side. President of the Muzaffarabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Zulfikar Abbasi, who was recently in Jammu as leader of trade delegation, was present on the occasion. Speaking to journalists from both sides of divide, Zulqarnain said, “initiation of trade ties is a historic beginning and it will bring people from both sides closer to each others”. However, he hastened to add, “trade, of course, is a good sign but this in no way is any solution to the Kashmir issue. A sustained dialogue and confidence building measures between India, Pakis...
