Jammu/New Delhi, 26: While Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s upcoming Kashmir visit is being seen as watershed in revival of peace discourse, the main national opposition party Bhartiya Janta Party is voicing concerns on New Delhi’s policy on Jammu and Kashmir.
Senior leaders of BJP, both in Delhi and Jammu, assert that they are averse to dialogue process but want its contours to be known. BJP seems to have taken strong exception to Home Minister P Chidambram’s description of Kashmir as a ‘political problem’.

Jammu, Oct 26: Despite clearance of all decks for his swearing in, the J&K State Chief Information Commissioner Wajahat Habibullah’s oath taking had to be deferred till the Central Government finds his replacement at the Central Information Commission.
Wajahat Habibullah was expected to take oath in Srinagar today which is now likely to take place in Jammu in next few days. Habibullah deferred his oath since his successor at the CIC is yet to be appointed.

Jammu, Oct 26: Vaishno Devi pilgrims finally heaved a sigh of relief after the battery car service, which was suspended five months ago, resumed yesterday up to Bhawan situated in the Trikuta Hills of Reasi district, sources here today said.
Sources said out of the 20 battery cars, eight were made functional after registration while the remaining would also be pressed into service in coming days.
''Due to the non-fulfillment of some documents, the battery car service from Adh Kuwari to Bhawan remained off track since June 15 and with the registration of eight cars, the service was resumed yesterday afternoon,'' official sources told UNI.

The saviour of Kashmir, Brigadier Rajendra Singh, fought many grim battles against the Lashkars led by Pakistani officers. His tenacious fighting checked the onward march of the marauders for full four days.
He had initially dug in his heels at Uri on October 22 reaching there at midnight. He had to retreat, every day, as the men at his command continued dying.
