| Taj's office in GMC yet nothing moves; academic, medical facilities going from bad to worse | | | | Syed Junaid Hashmi
JAMMU, Nov 5: Despite Minister for Medical Education Taj Mohiuddin having set-up an office inside the campus of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, academic as well as medical facilities have been going from bad to worse with no signs of improvements in the very near future.
Taj's fantastic ideas have failed to improve the situation. What these ideas have done is that old, worn out walls of GMC Hospital as well as Medical College are being painted over and again. A new lift, whose entry is on way towards mortuary rooms of GMC Hospital, is in operation. Cleanliness continues to be an issue but the old emergency has been put to use again with both the doors open.
But inside the college, according to an assessment report of Medical Council of India (MCI), there are no revenue records available to indicate proof of ownership and possession of the land. Hence, Government Medical College (GMC) is set-up on land which belongs to the state government but was never transferred to the Health and Medical Education department for construction of college as well as h... | |

Omar Abdullah had on Monday said NC is a committed ally of UPA and again today made it a point to appease Rahul Gandhi by stating that NC can never be a part of BJP led NDA.
According to reports, senior politicians privy to important developments had said Omar owes his power and also his continuation in power to Rahul Gandhi.

For last few days, the entire official machinery of the department is leaving no stone unturned to ensure all required arrangements at the venue of the rally- obviously on the instructions of the political big wigs in the ruling coalition.

"It is absurd that Chief Minister term the accession of Kashmir with India conditional on one day while the next day he describes the accession final. His statements are confusing which amply makes it clear that NC believes in double-speak," Qarra told a local news agency adding that it is the history of NC to thrive on flip-flop politics. Jammu, Nov 5: Despite claims of unity within the Azad and Soz factions of the Pradesh Congress, the differences have come to the open again ahead of the hyped rally of AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi.
