Asking the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to come concrete on the issue and desist from false promises, the industrialists of Jammu region have voiced a deep pessimism saying that the day is not too far when industrial estates will be turned into graveyards.

Following flimsy allegation of sexual exploitation at a BSF training camp in Udhampur, the Bihar government has ordered a probe after more than 100 cops fled the camp in past few days. The BSF top brass, however, said that recruits have deserted the camps due to riguous training.

In a bid to bail out the aviation industry for losses it is incurring on account of high operational costs, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel Tuesday hinted at lowering landing and parking charges for aircraft.
"This would be a form of relief for the loss-making aviation industry," Patel said at a function here, and added his ministry would discuss the issue with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) soon.
"As of now, we have not initiated any talks on this issue with airport authorities. But we are going to look into this issue," Patel said.

Jammu & Kashmir State Industrial Development Corporation and Steel Authority of India Limited are soon likely to finalize the terms of SAIL's proposed INR 300 crore plant in the state
A senior official of Jammu & Kashmir State Industrial Development Corporation said that the project contours will be discussed at the high level meeting. The proposal will then be sent to the state and central governments for approval. He added that "The land has not yet been handed over."
