In his first ever opinion on the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board land controversy, the Governor NN Vohra has said that things have been blown out of proportion due to misunderstanding as neither the land was taken over nor returned. The Governor also hinted at constituting an all faith consultative committee to advise the government on Shri Amarnath pilgrimage affairs. However, he has asserted that the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board is going on smoothly and there is no room for either any changes or any criticism.

After 15 days almost no work at the Courts, the Jammu lawyers will be finally donning their black aprons as the Bar Association today called off its strike and announced to resume the work by Thursday.
This decision was taken in a meeting of the General House of Bar where it was also settled down that the lawyers will be taking part in shut down call of Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti on Wednesday.

Governor, Mr N.N Vohra, today announced a grant-in-aid of Rs. 3.50 crores, from out of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board funds for upgrading various civic amenities in Katra town, the base camp for the yatra.
After visiting the Bhawan and praying for peace and tranquility in the State, the Governor said that as part of its social responsibility, the Board wants to contribute towards the development of the town.

With its bundle already full of controversies, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board has the plan to install a marble Shiv Lingum at the mouth of the Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas following a high court notice.
The SASB had recently been issued notice by the Jammu and Kashmir High Court on the marble replica of lingam following a petition before it.
