Jammu, July 16: Even as the angry Congress dissidents camping in New Delhi with bundles of grievances and complaints are awaiting an appointment with the party president Sonia Gandhi, the All India Congress Committee to put the rumours of organizational change in Jammu and Kashmir to rest.
Congress has dismissed reports about removal of Saifuddin Soz as Jammu and Kashmir unit president and his appointment as Governor of some State.
Soz, who was Water Resources Minister in the previous UPA Government and was left out in the new council of ministers, is likely to be given some important political assignment that will be equivalent to a Cabinet rank post.
"There is no move to remove him as PCC President," a senior AICC leader said while commenting on reports that Soz would be replaced by Chowdhry Mohammad Aslam who has been sulking over his omission from the state Council of Ministers.
The AICC leader also rubbished media reports which suggested that Soz would be appointed as Governor of some State.

New Delhi, July 16: The National Human Rights Commission has said that after considering all the circumstances of the case, it is prima facie satisfied that the Jammu and Kashmir Government must make monetary amends for the humiliation being faced by Anara Gupta in pornographic CD case.
The Commission also observed that this is a serious breach of human right of dignity and issued a show cause notice under Section 18 of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993 to the Chief Secretary, Government of Jammu and Kashmir seeking his comments within six weeks.

SRINAGAR, July 16: A record number of 151 people, including 65 women and 21 children, cross sides in the Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) today.
Official sources said the number of tourists from PoK continued to be on higher side as 57 residents of other side of the Line of Control (LoC), including 26 women and seven children, arrived here this afternoon after crossing the Aman Setu bridge near the last Indian military post on the LoC, on foot.
This was for the first time the guests had arrived here to meet their relatives after their separation in 1947.
