JAMMU, July 29: Jammu and Kashmir state's performance vis-à-vis implementation of 65 centrally sponsored developmental schemes under restructured twenty point programme is both dismal and far from satisfaction.
Evaluation report for the year 2011-12 has placed Jammu and Kashmir at no. 6 among poorly performing states of India. Other five poorly performing states include West Bengal (5), Sikkim (4), Arunachal Pradesh (3), Assam (2) and Bihar (1). Yet the state government can boost of good governance since it has progressed by three steps during the financial year 2011-12 and is now at no. 6 among the worst performing states.

JAMMU, Juy 29: Even as the operation to dig open the 400-mt-long tunnel along the Indo-Pak border in Samba district was in full swing, a top BSF official today said the trench smacked of a "new way of infiltration."
"This is a new way of infiltration," DIG Jammu Frontiers NS Jamwal said.
Jamwal, visited the spot for on spot assessments and went inside the tunnel along with DIG BSF J S Oberoi.
