Saroj Razdan Jammu, Aug 22: The autumn session of Legislature will commence in the last week of September, most likely on September 28 or 29 and will last for not more than 10-12 days. The notification for the session is being issued on August 28 following which the MLAs would be asked to submit their questions, this time only 10 , five each starred and unstarred per MLA. The brief duration legislative session as claimed by the Speaker of the Assembly Mohammad Akbar Lone shall see the opposition viewpoints and concerns fully accommodated and at the same time ruling coalition getting grilled from his end if they fail to satisfy the House with proper answers and details sought by the Legislators on issues related to public. The Speaker asserted he would make the Government accountable on all issues raised in the House. Sumit Sharma Jammu, Aug 22: Following the escape of under trial particularly an accused in a murder case from a jail in the Kathua District, the officials have put Assistant Jail Superintendent and two others suspended for dereliction of duties. Three jail security staffers identified as Surinder Kumar Assistant Superintendent of Jail, Ganesh Das Chakra Hawaldar and Selection Grade Hawaldar Swarn Singh have been put under suspension for alleged negligence of duty leading into running off by an under trial. Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 22: An alert was today sounded on the International Border (IB) in Ramgarh sub-sector of Samba near here on the sight of a suspect. Police sources said a man was found moving under suspicious circumstances by BSF personnel near the IB in Ramgarh area in the morning. He was immediately taken into custody by the BSF men and whisked away to a nearby outpost. However, during his questioning, it was found that he was an Indian and had lost his way. He was identified as Lajju (35), son of Alam of Lakhisaraj, Bihar. Nothing incriminating was recovered from him. He was likely to be handed over to police, the sources added....

Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 22: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of police today started probe into the rape and murder of a deaf and dumb girl which took place at Kajiyal in Ramgarh area of Samba near here in June 2009. A marriage function was in progress at Kajiyal on the night of June 13, 2009, when Arti (24), who was deaf and dumb, had gone missing. Her body was recovered from a dry village well the next morning. Police investigation did not make any headway in the case for nearly three years due to the alleged political pressure as the accused were said to be rich and politically well connected. ET Report srinagar, Aug 22: Amid allegations of bungling in the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) Chief Secretary Madhav Lal who is the chairman of the Steering Committee of the CAMPA has deferred approval of Annual Plans of Operations (APOs) for 2012-13. Sources told a local news agency that the Steering Committee had put a condition for the release of new funds under the CAMPA. "The Principal Chief Conservator Forests (PCCF) has been directed to produce details of afforestation works carried under the CAMPA scheme in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 before the approval of APOs for this year," they said.
