JAMMU, Oct 24: Special Operation Group held one person in the Jammu Bus Stand and recovered six rounds from his possession. SOG received some unknown telephone call in which they were told that a militant was arriving from Srinagar to Jammu and is reaching in the Bus Stand soon. The bus number and the portrait of the suspect was also elaborated to them. SOG laid a trap and held the person besides recovered six rounds from his bag. NEW DELHI, Oct 24: The crises of global recession and its impact on aviation industry has reached Jammu as well as one of most preferred airliners, the Jet Airways has reduced its flights from two to one in Jammu.
Till recently Jet was flying even three flights on Mumbai-New Delhi-Srinagar-Jammu circuits which have now been reduced to one only. On a regular routine Jet had at least one flight from Mumbai and another from New Delhi touching Jammu every day.

The Kerala police have confirmed that two militants killed in a gun battle with the security forces in the border district of Kupwara in Kashmir Valley early this month were Keralites. Kerala Special Branch CID (Kozhikode) Superintendent of Police, T K Raj Mohan, who is in Srinagar, has confirmed that the slain militants were Abdul Rahim from Malappuram and Mohammed Fayaz from Kannur, both in their early 30s and married.

JAMMU, Oct 24: Armed with hydrological data on water discharge, Indian government has firmly rejected Pakistan demand of compensation against use of Chenab water, particularly the dam storage of Baglihar hydel project.
Raising allegations of reduced water discharge, a team of Pakistan’s Central Indus Water Commission had recently visited the Baglihar project site on Chenab to make an assessment.

New Delhi, Oct 24: Comptroller and Auditor General of India has pulled up the External Affairs Ministry for sending a "extravagant" and "unwieldy" Haj goodwill delegation to Saudi Arabia every year in "disregard for economy in public expenditure."
The CAG asked the MEA to reduce the size of the delegation and cut short their stay in Saudi Arabia. It also asked the Ministry to review the extravagance in hiring of the accommodation and transport and de-link the pilgrimage by the members of the delegation.

LEH, Oct 4: India is set to revive another air base on the India-China frontier, nearly four months after landing an aircraft at one of the world's highest airstrips at Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) in Ladakh, officials said.
The Fukche airbase in eastern Ladakh, which is only 2.5 km away from the Line of Actual Control (LoAC) - the de-facto border between India and China - will be made operational in a month. The Indian Army has been carrying out repair work at the airbase.

JAMMU, Oct 4: Ahead of the formal launch of prestigious 450 MW Baglihar hydro-electric power project on river Chenab, possibly later this month, India’s Indus Water Commission has allowed its Pakistani counterparts for an inspection.
