SRINAGAR, Nov 19: With most of the people still celebrating festivity of Eid-ul-Azha, at least 8 persons, including a Police official, sustained injuries when separatist stone pelters returned to the streets after two weeks and engaged Police in ding dong battles at several places in the Valley.
Indicating resurgence of turbulence on the next shutdown day of hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani tomorrow, groups of separatist stone pelters today shouted anti-India and pro-Azadi slogans while engaging Police and paramilitary forces in ding dong clashes at several places in the Valley. Even as people at large were still busy with Eid-ul-Azha celebrations on the third consecutive day of the Islamic festival, stone pelters returned to the streets at over a dozen places and engaged Police and CRPF in intermittent skirmishes.

Congress has a spokesperson in J-K but he seldom speaks | | | NEHA
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 19: The sensitive border state of J&K has been in turmoil since months. The Chief Minister, who belongs to National Conference (NC) has been, instead of tackling the fast-deteriorating situation, particularly in the turbulent Kashmir Valley, adding more fuel to the fire by making highly controversial statements. So much so, he is taking the Congress party for a ride, making policy statements unilaterally, repeatedly questioning the very status of J&K to India and articulating views that only suit Pakistani and separatists and communalists in Kashmir. Besides, he is pursuing Kashmir-centric policies and not dispensing justice to the state's other regions....
| | A grim reminder on Heritage Day | Expedite 'healing touch' of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 19: Three years back when the then coalition government decided to resuscitate Mubarak Mandi Heritage complex, it raised some hopes that this historical monument which for some years is being seen as crumbling edifice, would be saved from further deterioration. The intent of the government cannot be disputed, which is essentially aimed to 'recreate history' by way of massive yet careful curative works, not a big headway has been achieved as many crucial and vital aspects of the heritage are under ruins and on the verge of getting vanished. Curative work is going on in some portions but its pace marred by multiple reasons has added up mess at the site which i...
| | ‘Expecting solution through UN resolutions is madness’ | Kashmir in UNO | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 19: The United Nations dropped Kashmir issue from its agenda last week much to the discomfort of the separatists. However, a few days later, the UNO issued a clarification stating that `Kashmir continues to remain on UN agenda.' This is not the first time when the UN has dropped Kashmir. In December 1996, UN dropped Kashmir from its agenda for the first time since January 1, 1948 when a complaint was formally lodged by New Delhi. Islamabad's hectic diplomatic efforts prevented what the separatists call miscarriage then. A question arises. Has UNO helped the people of Jammu Kashmir in any way?
The Kashmir issue was taken to the UNO by the first Prime Minist...
| | Delhi subverted democracy in J&K on day one to appease Kashmir | Betrayed Jammu -- I | | RUSTAM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 19: A close scrutiny of the proceedings of the Indian Constituent Assembly reveals that the issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir were discussed twice - first on May 27, 1949, and finally on October 17, 1949, when Article 306-A (Article 370) was adopted. It also shows that the focus on Jammu and Kashmir on May 27 was far more sharp and revealing than what it was on October 17, despite the fact that the issue under discussion was highly sensitive and controversial and that the subjects discussed were two and not just one. (Article 370 was sensitive in the sense that it was designed to give Jammu and Kashmir a very special status and the right to have its ...
