Early Times Reporter Jammu | Mar 25 The Jammu and Kashmir leadership Tuesday sent its greetings to Pakistan's new government led by Makhdoom Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani and hoped the return of democracy in the neighbouring country would create the right atmosphere to address the Kashmir issue. Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad welcomed the installation of an elected prime minister in Pakistan, hoping the 'return of democracy in the neighbouring country would usher atmosphere of peace and amity in the region'. He described Gillani's taking oath as head of the new government in Pakistan, following general elections, as a positive development for the growth of democracy there. He said this would also end the uncertainty prevailing in Pakistan for the last one year that had also slowed down the dialogue process with India. 'With an elected government in place in Pakistan, I am hopeful that it will work towards consolidation of the peace process initiated by the two countries four years ago,' he said. Islamabad | Mar 25 Yousuf Raza Gillani was today sworn in as Pakistan's new Prime Minister by President Pervez Musharraf at a ceremony boycotted by top leaders of the ruling coalition. Clad in a black traditional sherwani, Gillani, the country's 25th Prime Minister and the first premier from the Pakistan People's Party who is not a member of the Bhutto family, was administered the oath by Musharraf in the central hall of the Aiwan-e-Sadr or presidency here. Early Times Reporter Rajouri | Mar 25 The Police are suspecting an inside hand as a branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank was robbed off of Rs 10 lakhs in Thannamandi Township of this district. The Bank officials claimed that an unidentified person looted more than Rs 10 lakh cash from the Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch at Thannamandi in this district today. No one was aware of the loot till cashier of the branch Khadim Hussain was found unconscious outside the strong room of the branch. The fall in civilian killings is registering an impressive decline of around 50 per cent.
