SRINAGAR, Apr 26: Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today came out on the streets to press its trademark demand of withdrawal of troops and revocation of Jammu & Kashmir Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) even as over a dozen of its activists suffered minor injuries when Police made unsuccessful attempts to disperse a rally in the summer capital. Shouting slogans against human rights abuse by the Indian security forces, PDP activists installed a green colour flag on the clock tower at historic Lalchowk.
PDP President Mehbooba Mufti led a rally of her party activists from Sher-e-Kashmir Park while shouting slogans on public address system and carrying banners for resolution of the Kashmir dispute, ending human rights abuse by the Indian security forces in Kashmir, withdrawal of troops and revocation of AFSPA. All through the march towards Lalchowk, she was flanked by senior party leaders including Maulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, Qazi Mohammad Afzal and Aga Syed Mehmood.

JAMMU, Apr 26:
Two car-borne persons were arrested along with Rs 3, 09, 500 fake currency notes near Kishtwar today.
Police sources said acting on a tip-off, a police team laid a naka on Jawalpur-Binjwan route in Kishtwar and intercepted a vehicle (JK06-3197).
Sources said during frisking, fake currency worth Rs 3, 09, 500 was recovered from the possession of two persons. The accused were identified as Manzoor Ahmed Keen, son of Aziz Mohammad Keen, of Bandwa and Mohammad Yousuf Chowhan, son of Chiryan Chouhan, of Mori, Kishtwar.
Sources said 209 notes were of Rs 1,000 denomination and 201 notes were of Rs 500 denomination.

JAMMU, Apr 26: Two days after a Head Constable (HC) died at CRPF Bantalab Headquarters, another HC was found lying dead under mysterious circumstances at the CRPF transit camp near Narwal here this morning.
He was identified as Sukhbir Singh Yadav (45) of 162 Bn of CRPF. He hailed from Alvas in Rajasthan. Police sources said HC Sukhbir was found lying dead in a bathroom of the transit camp. He was later shifted by his colleagues to the Government Medical College Hospital mortuary where post-mortem was conducted on his body.

JAMMU, Apr 26: A Srinagar court Monday restrained member assembly Pattan and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Moulana Iftikhar Ansari and his two brothers Abid Ansari and Dr Amjd Ansari from transferring their immovable property. The court took cognizance of a suit filed by Punjab National Bank (PNB) to recover loan/interest to the tune of around 16 crore.
The restrictions apply to Ansari Motors complex, its machinery, two residential houses at Qamarwari, Srinagar and all bank accounts of Ansari brothers. The PNB also sought restrictions on Highland Motors which is a rechristened version of Ansari motors.
