JAMMU, May 15: Primary education report card of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's coalition Government is out and J&K has been ranked among the bottom three states which have performed miserably in providing quality education to the children in the schools across the state.

It has raised serious questions on the ability of those manning the department since last 6 years and reignited debate over utilisation of funds under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). The survey report which has been released recently assessed abilities of Class III students in Language (listening, recognition of words and reading comprehension) and in Mathematics (numbers, basic operations, measurement, data handling, patterns, money, geome...

JAMMU, May 15: The election process got completed in Jammu and Kashmir on May 7. The same day, National Conference working president and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah gave an interview to the correspondent of a leading English language national daily and the subject was Article 370 and implications of its abrogation. There was absolutely nothing that was new in the interview that he gave. It was just a reiteration of his old irritating and untenable stand. It is a different story that his interviewer, who was obviously blissfully ignorant about the history of Article 370 and the hostile attitude of the people Jammu province and Ladakh region, internally displaced Ka...

SRINAGAR, May 15: National Conference President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah may be an established golf player or a person with good cricketing sense, but politics demand maturity and temperament from the person who is heading a premier regional party in the state. Farooq is missing both these qualities. It is his biased politics which has made the NC suffer immensely.
NC leaders and workers are lost in deep thoughts these days and most of them are having their hands on their heads and wrinkles are also seen on their foreheads depicting the utter frustration. Their only concern is as to what will happen to the party in the coming assembly elections.
