Jammu, June 10: Government has ordered transfers and postings of 16 officers, including six officers of the Kashmir Administrative Services.
According to an order of the General Administration Department, J.S Tandon, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jammu is recalled and repatriated to his parent organization viz., Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation for further posting. Jammu, June 10: Over 100 Hindus from Pakistan, including women and children, arrived here Wednesday for pilgrimage to the Vaishno Devi shrine.
The group of 111 Hindus arrived at Katra, the base camp of the Vaishno Devi shrine Wednesday and “are scheduled to go to the shrine Thursday morning,” an official of the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board said.
About two dozen Hindu men (from Pakistan) had performed this pilgrimage last year.
“This year we have come with our families,” said Namik Ram, 48, one of the pilgrims.
All the pilgrims are from Kandkot in Sindh province and are members of Shri Yog Mata Mandir there.

Kathmandu June 10: At least 10 Indians were killed while attempting to undertake the pilgrimage to the Mount Kailash in Tibet and the nearby Mansarovar lake, venerated by Hindus, Buddhists and Jains alike. The deaths occurred due to high-altitude sickness as most of the pilgrims were above 60 years and came from cities in plains like Bangalore, Chennai and Lucknow, tourist agencies in Kathmandu said.

Srinagar, June 10: Six passengers, including four women, were killed and 29 were injured when the bus they were travelling in rolled down into a river near south Kashmir's Pahalgam tourist resort Wednesday, police said.
The bus was travelling from Anantnag town to Pahalgam when the driver lost control after a tyre burst at Yaner village, 16 km from the hill resort
"Six passengers died on the spot" after the bus rolled down into the Lidder river, a police officer said.
"The bodies have been recovered from the river," said the police officer, who was supervising the rescue operations. The injured were taken to a hospital.

New Delhi, June 10: Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram will leave for Srinagar on Thursday morning for a detailed review of the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
During his two-day visit, he is scheduled to meet the Governor, the Chief Minister and other State Ministers.
He will also attend a meeting of the Unified Command. The Home Minister will also discuss with the State Government issues relating to the economic development of Jammu and Kashmir.
This will be the first visit of Chidambaram to Jammu and Kashmir after installation of the new Government at the Centre.

Washington June 10: The United States says it would support more dialogue between India and Pakistan but has ruled out the appointment of a special envoy to deal with Kashmir that Islamabad contends is the key issue with New Delhi.
"No, there's - there are no plans to that effect," State Department Spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters on Tuesday when asked if there was any prospect of a special envoy to be appointed specifically for Kashmir.
