With the arrest of three youth brandishing guns and other assault weapons on full day lights, it appears that crime is cropping up in the city in an organized manner. But for timely information and swift action by Jammu Police, the criminals would have done a rival to death.
The Jammu Police today claimed to have averted a major tragedy by arresting three criminals along with arms and ammunition at the General Bus Stand. The alleged criminal trio was looking for an opportune time or may be waiting for other accomplices to attack a rival in the old city. However, their arrest while saved a life it also busted a criminal gang.

The Congress today snubbed the Peoples Democratic Party for claiming credit of trans-Line of Control bus service as it said that the regions parties have no role in taking decisions which run beyond boundaries of the country.
A senior party leader also said that canards are being spread against Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad that he was being recalled to New Delhi. He said that Azad’s growing popularity and his full control of political scene has frustrated the rivals and out of frustration they are spreading rumours against him.

The Madhya Pradesh Governor Balraj Jakhar, who is in Kashmir these days, has said that peace is a basic characteristic feature of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and this urge will soon bring a lasting stability in the region.
Jakhar was addressing a public meeting in North Kashmir after inaugurating a health mela. It may be noted here that Governors are rarely seen as addressing the public meetings. Jakhar is also a top Congress leader, even though the post of Governor is apolitical.

Even though industrialists fumed over a cold shouldered response from the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during his Jammu as he did not hold out any assurance on rolling back the withdrawal of excise incentives, but the Center government is reportedly working out a mechanism for offering relief to the industrial units.
