JAMMU, July 16: Anguished over Deputy Commissioners and other district officers frequently going on leisure trips, State Government today directed officers at the district headquarters to abandon the practice without delay but will ‘leisure trips’ actually prove costly to district officers?
The directions have come after Chief Minister’s grievance cell and Chief Secretary’s office received umbrage of complaints against Deputy Commissioners and other district sectorial officers that they leave district headquarter according to their own whims and fancies without caring about the inconvenience caused to public visiting the District Headquarters for redressal of their grievances.
Complainants included not only commoners but MPs, MLAs, MLCs, Panches and Sarpanches of all the regional and national political parties, said an official source. He added that Government took strong notice of the complaints and asked the General Administration Department (GAD) to verify a few of them. JAMMU, July 16: Inspite of the two years ago judgement of Supreme Court for sealing of all unregistered Nursing Homes, surprisingly the number of same has increased manifold and many are found practicing highly unprofessional and unethical medicare like forced deliveries for their vested interests.
The bizarre reality came to light when Directorate Health, Jammu replying to a RTI filed by RTI Convenor Balvinder Singh, stated that only seven Nursing Homes in Jammu division are registered with the Government while the registration procedure for around 28 Nursing Homes is under process.
